For sure. I'd consider that design out of date at this point. I've learned a lot more CAD since then. That was basically a mish mash of models thrown together. I'll revisit it after the drum is finished. The 15-22 mag I'm almost finished with is a pre-requisite to a redesign of both of those towers I made.
I am. I started having some feeding issues so I've backtracked a bit to diagnose it. I'll probably have to redo the connection point between the tower and drum because something is slightly off enough to cause binding issues. Everything else is done, just need to fugure out that last bit. Magazines are tricky to get right. Drum mags even more so.
Reddit sucks. GCI forum is the way.
Thanks man. For longer barrel lengths you'll definitely need some tungsten. My 16" build has the weight up to 1.7 oz. and it still doesn't run 100%. Also, lubricate generously.
Based off the Fair Deal Magazines by General Custer (great work). Will be compatible with Black Dog Machine springs as well as the OEM Z-springs. Two sets of followers for each spring type. Z-springs can also be found on AliExpress and I will provide the dimensions on release.

Put together a no drill SCSSS and it got some ideas flowing. Seems like this could be a tool-less design. The striker channel itself being the retainer for the sandwiched construction. 5 sets of 5 for $30 and you'd be set for quite a while. I don't break strikers often and I avoid dry firing as a preventative measure but this would be some extra peace of mind.

The rear sight on the one you linked is not adjustable for windage and elevation. Only the front. So, as I said, opposite of what I'm going for. The front sight for mine is fixed and the rear will have the adjustability to mimic HKs design.

Yes. I use blue loctite for extra security. Never had an issue.

You like HK? I like HK. Here's some handguards for your wannabe 22lr HK. Two lengths included. One for a tucked 4.5" barrel and an untucked 9" barrel. These were heavily inspired by the Bowden Tactical AR-V handguards. Kudos to them and their design. Makes me rock solid.

Side project I'm working on. Trying to keep them authentic looking. Front sight is finished. The post is SCS-able and I've made a blitzkrieg style alternate post as well. Commercially available posts are not interchangeable as I had to move the M3 slot down a few mm.
The rear sight poses more of a challenge. Drum is functional and is basically the same design that the MP22 build uses but I'm still figuring out how to make windage adjustable as there is not a lot of material there to work with. HK sells the bolts individually for these adjustments but $5 each. May try some heat-serts and some set screws to achieve the same result while not forking over $20 minimum for two bolts. For now I'm using a fixed version of the rear sight with the rotating drum.
