With reddit banning fosscad/diy related subs, folks are seeking alternatives. I'll try to keep a list of the more active ones in this thread, and of course we welcome content here as well.

FLPDW - Coming soon (forum.guncadindex.com)
submitted 4 weeks ago by Fl_eggs to c/fosscad@lemmy.ml

Been working on a “clone” of the HBPDW that can mount to a milspec carbine buffer tube. Not 300$ and fully diy. Uses either 8mm solid CF rod or 8mm ss linear rods. Has both a brace option like the original and a stock option. Sailing soon on a ship near you, just wanted to get some feedback before release.

Musgrave FCG? (forum.guncadindex.com)

Anyone know how the Musgrave fire control group works? It’s double action hammer fired, has to be dead simple but the only animation on YouTube is wrong.

Parts (self.fosscad)

Hello! I am looking for a good source for multi packs of gen 5 take down springs. I keep finding 1's for like $4-5/ea plus shipping. Was hoping for a 5-10 pack? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I see that a printed frame for the Raven 25acp exists, but I can’t find the files anywhere. Could someone point me the right direction. (Yes I’ve sent an email to Frytech, but no reply)

Other than the super safety, what frt mechanism(s) are available for builds using mac upper part kits and ar15 fcg.

All the pistol mag extensions that I've seen uploaded are pretty fuckass. They're usually ugly, they don't stay on well during firing, theyre impossible to take apart, etc. So I made my own inspired by the OEM Glock ones. There's also the taller floorplate that holds the spring in place. These ones are specifically Glock 19 magazines, and they stand up straight instead of leaning back like they do with the OEM ones. I'll sail it soon, need to create an account. I will make extensions for other magazines; next up is probably the P320. Let me know how they work!

Parts kits are now available for the M3 version builds for the Projectile Dysfunction 15mm at print-a-22.com! Really cool 15mm stuff in development in the community so there’s no better time to make one than now!

I grabbed archives of fosscad and took a look at the contents of the zst's. I think I could probably rebuild the contents of the subreddit in some manner or another; the question is scale and hosting. How would we make the posts easily searchable, where would they live, what endpoint can we upload hundreds of thousands of comments into in a reasonable time frame... all that fun stuff.

The archives don't contain pictures, but contain links to the pictures and the ones I've checked are currently still live (meaning the pics are still hosted on reddit). Dunno how long that will remain the case.

I have no idea what the size of the archives would be with pics downloaded; gigs, a TB, no clue. I'm posting this to gauge public interest and I haven't done much preliminary work (oh, these are json. Yep, dictionaries work. Wingo.)

Is there any interest in making this more publicly available? I've run into an issue with a particular build and I'll be diving through the archives to fix it for my self. It seems like a shame that all this information would be inaccessible to everyone who isn't able or interested in trawling through their own local archives.

I'm not a programmer by trade, but work in an adjacent space. I can plink along on this if other people are interested (and if anyone is interested enough to help pitch in, even better).

I am trying to build the decker .I want to ECM the barrel but it is impossible to find the files to ECM a .380 barrel. has anyone done it? I can only find immortal revolts V3.5 ECM Mega Pack and doesn't include the .380. I found his ECM guide in the ECM files for the stingray it was V3.62 and it did include the dimensions for the .380, but it only has the STL files for 9mm. where can I get the STL for the mandrel and the other stuff I have been searching for 2 weeks I am going insane!!!

this is what I have found from the guide

.380ACP

8.84mm bore, 9.02mm groves, 9.06mm throat. The .380ACP mandrels has 1:16 twist rate and 6 grooves.

Chamber depth is 14.35mm, Throat depth is 17.85mm and throat is 3.5mm long.

The cartridge headspaces on the case mouth.

METRIC tools use 6mm steel rods and IMPERIAL tools use 1/4 inch rods.

I am looking for everyone's thoughts on the best design available for Brits. Have considered the FGC-9, both main revisions, and the FGC-6. Are there other options available with a bit better reliability from magazines and also extraction? Preferably that can handle +P+ pressures.

CAD assistance please (forum.guncadindex.com)

Is there anyone with enough CAD skill to put this texture (https://makerworld.com/en/models/1775355-wushu-grip-hollow-kungfu-stipple-no-beaver-tail?from=search#profileId-1890546) onto this shape grip (https://www.printables.com/model/775620-wushu-grip/files)?? the no beavertail model! I need this texture but I also can't have a beavertail, and this model has it cut off, which means there is still a lot of overhang and extra space on the back. I only know how to use Fusion 360 and haven't found a way to do this, so if anyone knows how I'd also appreciate tips! Also, if one already exists I appreciate the link or file to it, but I haven't found one yet. Best case scenario I'd love for the original grip to just have the back slightly trimmed so it fits the footprint of a regular no tail ar-15 grip. Thanks in advance!

Hello... lemmitors...? Lemmings? FOSSCAD enthusiasts by another name.

If you're interested in an instance to call home that's guncad top-to-bottom, come check out https://forum.guncadindex.com/ !

(EDIT: If this is out-of-place, I apologize. I needed another relevant forum with which to confirm we had working federation. If this is out of line for your instance, please let me know)
