With the change to federal regulation coming up in January, what are some of the best suppressor designs from the community? Best for .22 LR, 5.56 NATO, 30cal/9mm? Also are there any designs that won't need additional reinforcement? Just wanted to get a bit of a survey from everyone.

FTN4 is the best printed suppressor out there. There are options for 22lr, 556, 308, 9mm, and 45. They need reinforcement, either an aluminum tube or a carbon fiber sleeve. With suppressors tax dropping next year, someone may come up with a better design eventually. However, the FTN series of suppressors is quite robust and can handle FA rates of fire, especially when it's made of PA6-CF or even better, PPA-CF.

I second the nomination for ftn4, there is no other project in existence with as many well tested variants. It's a proven design.

For anything that's not 22 and doesn't have the Browning tilting barrel design the I agree that ftn4 is your best choice in terms of effort vs effect.

For pistols with the tilt barrel (you'll have to ignore my ignorance of nomenclature) the kneelsun v2 by pembletonandsons(?) that mounts via the booster from their site. it works so well I accidentally v left out the aluminum sleeve and send cut send plates and despite all the extra friction from looser tolerances and steel with rough edges on plastic it'd still reliably cycle with supersonic ammo and occasionally with subsonic ammo.

For .22 there's several good options requiring no reinforcement or post processing. The pill popper by plaboi is a good option with a small and medium profile. With a ten inch barrel and federal subsonic ball ammo it sounds like a pellet gun until the bullet hits something solid or a spent shell makes the tell tale jingle. Almost movie quiet.

The FTN is apparently the best but I Form 1’d a Systema Numansky for my AR9 and 300BLK out of ABS. I’m happy with its performance. It requires no extra reinforcement.

You mean Systema Tumansky, right (typo)? I can't find a Numansky design. I ask, because I'm a newbie to 3DP suppressors. I've been running printers for years and I have some Form 1s, but my lathe is down so I'm thinking about taking the fast track with printing. I can apply for new $0 Form 1s when I get my lathe running after the first of the year. :) I appreciate all the suggestions made in this thread.

Yeah. Mistake on my part.

Anything by Pla+boii is a safe bet. Dude was the goat of 3dp suppressor designers. FTN.4 is the most recent design iteration, but don’t forget about the EZ lineup which features similar designs but easier to build.
