What do you think of setting up a GunCAD Wiki to store curated knowledge on any FOSSCAD related topic? GunCAD index made Odysee searchable, this forum makes discussion possible, the wiki could be the knowledge base. I know this puts more work on Shittinator's shoulder, so ultimately it's his call, but I can help writing articles.

Like a community wiki? We'll see -- I don't wanna commit to another service just yet, not while this one's still warming up.

If folks have the time, the forum might as well take advantage of the technology.

I’m think this is a fantastic idea

For what it's worth there is already a wiki on the Guncad Index, https://guncadindex.com/wiki/. It is currently focused more on being a wiki for GCI proper vs. a general guncad wiki, but perhaps it could someday evolve into a general wiki.

This is a great starting point since it is already there. @TheShittinator@forum.guncadindex.com what do you think about potentially using it for general GunCAD knowledge?

It's... clunky, honestly. I'm not very happy with how the UX is when editing, the styling clashes with the site, it uses a ton of jquery that I really don't want to strip out...

It might be time for us to host like a mediawiki instance or something.

I fully support upgrading the wiki tech on the Guncad Index. Can confirm that the editing experience is less than stellar.

I was in the process of making this but the bobcat I was building ain't working so I haven't done it yet. The wiki I had envisioned was open for each everyone to edit but the biggest issue is french retards going on there and breaking pages. My solution for this was more of a blog style where you make your own entry and only you can edit it. There could be multiple say bobcat entries.

Also some goober stole my domain name 3dGunBuilder.net or whatever it is. That site is incredibly hard on my eyes btw

I would like something more curated. I'm concerned about malicious actors or just simple idiots spam posting and burying everything else underneath.

I believe this wiki is for beginners enought. (The old fosscad wiki)

This is a good starting point, but we need to keep it up to date. Also we don't have to limit ourselves to beginner guides.
