Bullets are expensive so I'm building up Remington 700 in .223 to soften the πŸ’²cha-ching πŸ’² of every trigger pull. It's mostly just a side project so I'm not dumping money into it, but maybe $300-500 for a scope. It'll be for around 600 yards. I'm thinking maybe just a Vortex Crossfire II 4–12x50 or maybe I'll go up to a diamondback. Anyone care to add opinions? I know there's not a ton of activity here but maybe we can drum up some

I've considered getting a fixed power scope before but I'm always afraid that I'll end up hating it and wishing I had gotten something else. But on the other hand...how often do I change the magnification on a range gun anyways.
