Welcome home. We've been expecting you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

We're doing our Black Friday Deals this weekend. - $20s off all our FRTs + plus an extra 15% off if you use code FOSSCAD.

Stock up for your next build with our Kabuto 3-position FRTs, or get squad ready with our 10-pack Super Safety Bundle.

On a personal note, I appreciate you guys being so resilient this year. The Reddit meltdown was rough. But here we are. Still going strong. Hope to see some awesome builds in the new year!

Now I’m curious if mentioning the Discord will get you banned too?

Not that anyone should try and find out.

Reddit is continuing to prove why the GCI Forum and FOSSCAD.io are needed.

Reddit sadly is great for visibility and spreading awareness. But it sees that our conversion rate is going to be zero if we can’t even mention where to learn more about the Forum.

Glad to hear they're quality.

Totally fair - I put in an order on Oct 21st. Am still waiting on a tracking number.

Hey everyone! Wanted to share what we have available for those looking to upgrade their builds with an FRT or two.

We cater to a wide market, so for a lot of you 3D2A folks our DIY options probably would ring home the most. Granted we do have more drop-in/assembled kits at a higher price point.

I host FOSSCAD.io from FRT sales mostly. Some folks have asked about donations, but I don't feel comfortable talking folk's money without giving something in return.

So if you're in a legal state (see !supersafety@fosscad.io for the legality map) - and wanna support - buy an FRT today :)

Hi Friends,

I ordered some PY2A G19 rails a while back. Still am waiting on my order.

Bought two of these: https://www.printyour2a.com/product-page/g19-gen-5-slim-rail-set

Has anyone else had a long wait time?

In the case my order craps out, does anyone else supply PY2A rails? if not, is the design open enough to cut/bend my own? I have a CNC mill.

I run a .300 blk 8" Aero upper with a Nomad 30 and a Super Safety.

It's good fun. Also LMK if you need a cheap Super Safety. I sell DIY Kits for the SCS Super Safety for $15. You just print the printed parts and I handle the metal stuff ;)

Here is my buddy giving it a rip: https://lemmyverse.link/fosscad.io/post/29082

o7 - Mr. Bliccy.

Time to spread the signal.

https://sortinghat.fosscad.io/faq/mobile-apps/

This is a guide for people using the Sorting Hat (an app I made to divvy up signups between GCI and FOSSCAD to balance load and reduce censorship risk). It also talks about how to get a mobile app set up so you can doomscroll 3D2A shit from your phone.

If anyone is interested in helping promote GCI/FOSSCAD or hosting additional lemmy instances to prevent censorship and takedown risk. Please DM me or reply here.

Doing some major refactoring anyways.

This is our current configs results over the test suite.

Clip coverage: 37 clips across 35 RPM buckets

  • Average percent error: -0.01%
  • Std dev percent error: 16.15%
  • Average absolute percent error: 9.22%
  • Median absolute percent error: 3.01%
  • Max absolute percent error: 47.65%

As some of y'all may have noticed - there is a new @ROFBot@fosscad.io - I'm developing it myself.

Will eventually open source. But it's a bit of a buggy mess right now.

Please be patient with the bot, and take results with a grain of salt for now.

Attached is an image you would get commented on your post.

I'm playing around with the backend to use different strategies.

There is this GUI that u/schlarpc made: https://schlarpc.github.io/rof-gui/

It uses similar envelope detection, but a manual fixed threshold. It also reports the whole RPM of the clip along with mean/median burst rates. The downside to this is it caps out at a minimum spacing of 50ms per shot (~1200 RPM)

We're taking a different approach, attempting to comb through peaks and find shot audio, while filtering out echos/ejection noise.

It's buggy. But i've seen median error rates as low as 2% over my test data, but when it fails it fails hard.

Long story short, bot reply might be full of crap, but all the data gathering helps!

It's buggy as hell right now. I've been working with OP to refine the model, but we need a better clip.

The FAN going wrrrh in the background is tripping up detection.

I have 3 modes i'm testing right now. Happy to share more. But I pulled a ton of clips from reddit for testing.

A Gen 3 Glock 19 isn’t super hard.

A harlot is a pretty common first build.

Pocket Pleaser (Ruger LCP) can be fun too.

Apparently being anti-2A is profitable....

As of Oct 27th, 2025.

Alaska is green, Hawaii is red. Colorado is only banned in specific counties. But I only had polygon data for the whole state.

Yellow means there is either a Bump Stock Ban, or other “Trigger Activator” Ban that specifically mentions “recoil” as the mode over operation.

The litmus test for legality there is whether or not arresting the recoil (bolting rifle to table, etc) would disable the functionality (i.e.) like a bump stock.

I’m by no means an authority on this, but from my research this is what I got.

Feel free to comment/challenge any states, and I'll update this post.
