250 rounds so far and going strong, come and test it!

We had some cracking issues originally in the front shroud, but that problem is fixed in the latest version. I believe we are pretty close to the final version now.

In closed beta at element. Message me to join

With how well the beta is going, it wont be that much longer hopefully!

Glad to see this project revived again. Can't wait to see the release.

Its liked the cursed project, this is the 4th attempt that I am aware of

But testing going well, it will 100% be released

No doubt. I remember the original beta over on the DD rocket chat getting good traction initially but just repeatedly fizzled out. Did you guys finally solve for the front rails collapsing?

[–] GreenWhiskey 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Front rails collapsing? Like the trigger guard?

I heard there was some breaking at the hinge too.

Ive taken a very different approach, the key is the arch.

The grip disconnects completely and folds in front of the trigger. The trigger is oem and doesnt fold/move.

The advantage is that the arch holds the grip by the rear and the trigger guards hold the grip in the front. The grip is “suspended” with constant traction from both sides. Works as a shock absorber since the grip is free floating.

Fins on grips prevent side to side play

Im up to 350 rounds and going strong on my current model. Some feeding issues im ironing out

Hell yeah, that's great progress! One of the earlier designs when spanky was around involved a custom front rail loosely based on the g26 rails. Except the bottom part was scalloped to allow for part of the trigger guard to fold under it. There was an issue with those rails bending inward and causing issues with cycling. I made some prototypes of the frame that used the rails from the lonewolf 80% design and passed it off before taking a break of on 3d2a work. Not sure what happened after that but this is excellent news.

Oh interesting. Theres been so many different solutions to this, never would have even thought of that

It has been a harder project than I originally anticipated, which explains why magpul has struggled too.

Also, thats why my solution is to bypass the problems, as opposed to address them head on

It’s a perfect challenge of several loadbearing parts with no real estate to reinforce. Space extremely limited

appreciate it!

I love how Magpul's taken so long to make this themselves that this project has spun up, died, changed hands, spun up again, and is still closer to the finish line than theirs is.

[–] GreenWhiskey 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

that's what motivates me the most... beating Magpul to the finish line!

champ mentality - appreciate it

This is bonkers, awesome job! All using off the shelf components?

[–] GreenWhiskey 2 points 2 months ago

Yes… the only “special” item you need is a barrel extender thats 11 dollars on ebay

[–] printpeace 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)
