Not my video, but this is a pretty impressive gun that uses butane-air mixture to shoot various projectiles like steel balls or rods, and it's autoloading and electronically controlled. Nominally it is a "potato gun" but really it doesnt shoot potatos (maybe it could shoot a french fry though)

Another theoretically promising route towards something like this would be the practice of dieseling in airguns, but deliberately designed for in such a way that it could be done consistently without blowing up the gaskets.

I don't have any machining tools myself but I do like to think about these things idea wise.
