Hey all,

Good to see this place is live. It's cool to have a fresh spot from the ground up.

As we all start posting here and getting a feel for the place, just a thought: let's not pull up the ladder behind us. The "normie" sites like reddit etc are still the best way new people who are 3d2a.

You'll get some downvotes and screeches from the usual suspects. But you're not posting for them. You're posting for the lurkers the person who is genuinely curious and just needs to see a door to walk through. That's probably how most of us got here in the first place.

Just something to keep in mind as we get this place off the ground.

Worry not -- I specifically picked this platform because I think it'll be a good face. The UI has good SEO and Lemmy exposes a sitemap I can feed to Google for indexing content. We won't know how well we appear in search results for at least a week or so, but I'm not gonna let us vanish into a corner of the internet here.
