FYI if RS22/RB22 barrels are out of stock from rossi, you can find plenty on ebay along with mossberg 702 barrels which are the same. Good for all my other projects and future ones too.
Liner does have an advantage of being lighter and cut to any length but I know some people don't want to chamber liners.

Do you think it would be possible to cut down a mossberg 702/RS22/RB22 to 8"-10" and then thread it? I feel as if its less to have a baffle strike incase the thread adapter comes off or something drastic?

If you have the tools to do it, go for it. Even if someone didn't need threads and just wanted a shorter barrel, they could cut it. Following all laws of course.
Just came back in stock and code BF2025 brings the cost down to $35 + tax and FS. $37 for a barrel shipped to FL is hard to beat.
